He spent his days in the woods building forts, swimming, canoeing, doing arts and crafts, archery, team building activities, cooking out, sliding down the "Black Hole" and just plain having fun and being boys!! He went with 3 other boys that he has known since he was 3. They all met when they were in preschool together. Because numbers were down at the camp, the four boys were the only ones in their group with their counselor Nate.
On Thursday night we got to go for Family Night out at camp so we could see what he had been doing, see his fort and sing some songs. It was a really fun night. That is when I took most of my pictures.
Exploring!!

The Black Hole is a slide made out of a corrugated tube on a huge hill that you get in and slide down. You sit in a plastic winter sled and away you go - it also makes a cool sound as you go down:-)
Friday was Western Day so they all dressed up in their with their best western gear. It was really hot, so there was no way we were wearing jeans...this is as good as it got. He was pleased with it.
I asked him every day what he liked best about camp and this is what he said:
Day 1:
Making our Fort
Chopping down trees for our camouflage
Sliding down The Black Hole with friends
Day 2:
Archery
Chopping stuff
Writing our names with charcoal
Day 3:
Being thrown in the pool by Nate
Scaring other people, who were apparently coming too close to their fort
Hot showers before swimming
Day 4:
The vine rope swing
Day 5:
Canoeing to Crocodile Island
Sliding down The Black Hole
Well that is his week in a very big nutshell:-) I know there were a lot of pictures. He can not wait to go back to camp next year!! I think I can say that this was money very well spent!
