*~*July 4th*~*

We woke up on the 4th of July to the sound of rain. The forecasters had predicted that it would rain early and then it was supposed to stop by the afternoon. Our kids continued with their high hopes that we would, one, be able to play kick ball after church, and two, that we would be able to go to fireworks.

Right before we left for church, I snapped a picture of my cute kiddos. I was totally surprised and shocked, I got a great picture on the first try!! My kids must be getting older:-)

We had a wonderful patriotic filled service at church. Thanking God for all the freedoms we have here in the United States and remembering all the lives lost to give us those freedoms.

After church we had a picnic which had to be moved inside, not because of the rain, but because everything was still really wet. But that's okay fellowship is good whether you are inside or outside. The kids instead of playing kickball outside ended up playing dodge ball inside. Michael was giving a good effort, but he has a really hard time loosing or being 'out'. We are working on that:-) It ended really well though and he was happy when we left.

We had a nice relaxing afternoon and then a dinner of fried chicken and potato salad, the weather still looked good so we were going to be able to go to fireworks - YEAH!!! The kids were so excited. We scoped out a place to sit and watch them were we would not get caught in the traffic jam when they were done. We found a great little park to go and sit at, which also worked really well because then the kids could play on the playground, run in the soccer field and roll down the hill while we waited.

After a spectacular show of fireworks, we got in the car in 5 minutes and we were home 10 minutes later! Mission Accomplished:-) I think we have found our new favorite spot for the 4th of July fireworks.
