Once we were done, Jeremy said "why didn't we do this a LONG time ago!" It makes such a difference. We easily installed the floor in the two days of the weekend and just had the molding to trim up and re-install.
On Tuesday this project became a whole lot more memorable...Jer had the day off to go on a field trip in the morning with David and then we planned to finish up the trim work in the afternoon. We were using the table saw to cut the very last molding board when something happened and Jeremy cut off the tips of two of his fingers! After going to the hospital, there wasn't much they could do for it because there was nothing to sew up, so they cleaned it and bandaged it up and told us to meet with an Orthopedic Surgeon the next day. Thankfully he didn't need surgery! They said that the body would re-grow enough tissue to cover the ends of the bone! I didn't even know the body was capable of such a thing!
So as of today, Friday, our flooring project isn't quite yet done:-) But that doesn't matter - it will get done soon enough.
I am so thankful for God's protection! It could have been so much worse and it wasn't!
